Order type CF consignment issue
SUMMARY
Order type CF is used in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) module for consignment issue scenarios. Consignment issue allows a company to deliver goods to a customer's location, but the ownership of the goods remains with the company until they are consumed or sold by the customer. With order type CF, you can track the consigned goods separately in the system and have better visibility over the consignment stock. This helps in managing inventory effectively and ensures accurate accounting of consigned goods.
When creating a sales order with order type CF, the material is not deducted from the delivering plant's unrestricted stock, as it is with standard sales orders. Instead, the material is linked to the customer's consignment stock. The goods are considered as delivered but remain as company property until they are either sold to the customer or consumed. This process provides more flexibility in managing stock levels and allows for better control over consignment goods throughout the supply chain.
It is important to monitor the consignment stock regularly to ensure proper stock levels are maintained. In SAP SD, you can run various reports to track the movement of consigned goods, monitor stock levels, and reconcile with the customer's records. This visibility helps in optimizing inventory levels, improving customer service, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Order type CF consignment issue simplifies the consignment process, streamlines operations, and enhances efficiency in managing consignment stock effectively.
